My name is Shreelakshmi. I joined the Photonics Research Laboratory (PRL) as a PhD student in August 2019. I completed my undergraduate studies in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from R.V. College of Engineering, Bengaluru in the year 2017. Before joining PRL, I worked as a Software Development Engineer.
Research :
My Current Area of Research involves Development of III-N Material Platform – Aluminum Nitride and Gallium Nitride for Quantum Photonics and Communication Applications. I am working towards understanding the impact of material growth parameters on the crystal quality which in turn might have an impact on the non-linear and electro-optic coefficients of the crystal, which effect the device performance.
This study will help benchmark the quality of the material required to exploit them to understand and demonstrate different nonlinear processes such as Second Harmonic Generation, Four Wave Mixing, Single Photon Generation, and Electro-Optic Modulation to name a few.
