He received his BSc (Research) degree in Physics from Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru. He joined the Photonics Research Laboratory in Centre for Nano Science and Engineering (CeNSE) as a PhD student in January 2020.His current interest lies in exploring various optomechanical sensing techniques using photonic integrated circuits. In his spare time, he loves to play chess, play guitar, and listen to music.
Research :
MEMS cantilevers and beams are widely used for detection of physical, chemical, and biological changes at the micro and nano scale. The detection techniques for these microcantilevers using electronic read out is fairly matured, but the optical read out method has attracted a lot of attention for researchers for its simplicity, compact and cost-effective approach. In his work, he will be exploring devices combining both mechanical and photonic structures for various sensing techniques.
He uses various softwaresfor the theoretical calculations and for optimizing various parameters of the device fabrication.
