Dr. Pramod Kumar Yadav, CSIR Postdoctoral Fellow
Dr. Pramod has completed Ph.D. in Materials Science and Technology at the Indian Institute of Technology, BHU in 2020. He is awarded the CSIR-Research Assistantship during his Ph.D. He is working on a couple of projects: 1. Hafnium and Zirconium-based ferroelectric thin films, and 2. Emergence phenomena in electrically and magnetically intertwined hybrid pyrochlore iridates thin films.
Dr. Jalaja M A, IoE Postdoctoral Fellow
Dr. Jalaja completed Ph.D (Physics) from CSIR-National Aerospace Laboratories, Bangalore, and National Institute of Technology, Calicut in 2020. She was awarded with CSIR-Research Assistantship, and qualified the CSIR-UGC NET (June, 2012), and GATE 2011. Her current project is based on Relaxor based Ferroelectrics with a semiconducting bandgap for Neuromorphic Computing.

She has completed MSc (2018) degree in Physics from the National Institute of Technology, Rourkela. Her current research project focuses on the TEM study of the structure and properties of NBT-KBT lead-free ceramic.
Ms. Upanya Khandelwal
(Joint student with Prof. Saurabh Chandorkar, CeNSE)
She holds B.Sc. and M.Sc. from Delhi University in Physics. The focus of her work is to fabricate and hence study the oscillations made from the family of Nickelates which shows Insulator to Metal Transition (IMT).
Mr. Shubham Kumar Parate
Mr. Shubham has done B.Tech in Metallurgical Engineering from NIT Raipur and M.Tech. in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering from IIT Madras. His research is based on in-Situ TEM for investigating electromechanical responses of oxides.
Mr. Anudeep Tullibilli
He holds B.Tech. in Mineral Engineering from ISM, Dhanbad. He served as Executive Trainee and as an Assistant Manager at NMDC. His research focuses on the study of superlattice PbTiO3-SnTiO3 pulse laser depositions, and study on dead-layer & topologically stable field configurations of polarization in thin films.
Mr. Soumyajyoti Mondal
Mr. Soumyajyoti has done B.Tech in Metallurgy and Materials Engineering from Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, Shibpur. His research focuses on the study of Electrostriction in Lanthanum doped Ceria.
Mr. Vivek Dey
He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Physics from Dibrugarh University and his Master’s degree in Physics from Cotton University. Further, he completed an MTech in Solid State Materials from IIT Delhi. His research delves into the intriguing world of stochastic phenomena and the physical modeling of stochastic memristive systems. His passion lies in the fusion of chaos theory with learning mechanisms, pushing the boundaries of unconventional computing.
Abhishek Kumar
I completed my B. Tech in Metallurgical Engineering from IIT (BHU) in 2021. I, then, went on to work with Tata steel from 2021 to 2023. Later, I joined CeNSE as a direct PhD student. I will be working on Co-relative microscopy of ferroelectrics and other semiconductors using Atom Probe Tomography and Transmission Electron microscopy.

I completed my BSc in physics from Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Centenary College, Rahara and MSc from IIT Hyderabad. Currently I am working on a project to investigate the Metal-Insulator transition in rare earth nickelate.

Hello! You finally found me here! I am Harish, an enthusiastic and curious person. As a project assistant in the FTFEML group, I am currently exploring neuromorphic computing aspects in VO2 memristors. Though the future is unpredictable, I aim to be an experimental physicist. I have done my master’s specialization in mesoscopic physics laboratory at IISc, wherein I made quantum capacitance measurement set-up with femto-farad precision.

Anand is passionate about semiconductor technology, and aims to work at the forefront of synthesis and fabrication techniques. He worked mainly on giant electrostriction and a bit on phase transitions in VO2. Moonlights as a guitarist, hockey goalkeeper and an endurance cyclist. And often the coolest member of the lab.

I have done my B.E in ECE from Ramaiah Institute of technology, Bangalore. I am currently working on stochastic resonance in ferroelectric devices for my masters thesis. My research interests include neuromorphic computing and memory devices. In free time, I watch cricket, football and sports anime.

His project is primarily based on the synthesis and study of BTO nanoparticles and its incorporation into various dielectric matrices.

Dr. Rajeev Kumar Rai, Postdoctoral Fellow
He holds an Integrated M.Sc and PhD degree (2021) in Material Science from Materials Research Centre, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. He has done his Bachelors (Hons.) in Chemistry from Delhi University, Delhi. In FTFEML, he worked on Electron Microscopic investigation of thin film oxide materials. Currently, he is a Postdoctoral Research fellow at the University of Pennsylvania
Dr. Rajesh Katoch
He holds Ph.D. (2016) in Materials Science and Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur and M.Tech (2009) in Materials Science and Technology from Indian Institute of Technology (BHU). Before joining our group he worked at INRS Canada and CeNS bangalore. His project was based on resistive switching memories, rare earth nickelates, and transition metal oxides.
Advaitha M, Sr. Project Associate
She holds B.Sc. in Industrial Electronics from Bharthidasan University and M.Sc. in Applied Electronics from NIT Trichy. Before joining our group she has served in many other institutes and organizations. She worked on the growth of crystalline PCM by physical deposition methods.
Deepak K Dinkar, CEng (Project Scientist)
He holds Master’s degree in Materials Science and Nanotechnology and Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. He worked on the investigation of Hopfions in ferroelectric composite thin films, and the investigation of insulator-to-metal transition in rare-earth nickelates’ thin films. Prior to his joining he had worked at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), Mumbai, and at the International Advanced Research Centre for Powder Metallurgy and New Materials (ARCI) at IIT Madras Research Park, Chennai.

Mr. Shivam has done M.Sc. in Condensed Matter Physics fro University of Allahabad. He qualified the IIT JAM examination in the year 2016.
Dr. Subhajit Pal (Post Doctoral Fellow)
He has completed Ph.D. (2021) in Physics from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras in 2021 and has done M.Sc. (2015) in Physics from Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati. His project was focused on Finding an alternative Pb-free material, which converts electrical energy to mechanical stress, fascinates tremendous importance for a wide range of applications perspectives.
Dr. Debadarshini Samantaray, Post Doctoral Fellow
Dr. Samantaray has done Ph.D. at the Materials Research Centre, IISc; MSc (Physics) at Pondicherry Central University; and B.Sc. (Physics) at Utkal University. She is a Gold Medalist in both of her Bachelors and Masters degrees. She has secured AIR-35 in GATE and AIR-46 in CSIR-NET/JRF Examinations. Her project was related to the Electron Microscopic studies of oxide thin films.
Ms. Suparna Mondal, BS (Research)
She worked on the synthesis and characterization of ferroelectric HfO2 thin films through microwave assisted synthesis route. She is a NTSE (2015) and KVPY (2015) scholar.
Mr. Vaibhav Singh Rajput (M.Tech. Student)
He graduated in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, and has done M.Tech. in Nanoscience and Engineering at CeNSE, IISc. He secured AIR-1 in GATE and currently working at Juniper Networks.
